Overview
Latin America brings to mind images of mysticism for many people. If you are looking for something entirely different from the events you have experienced thus far, The Latin American Cultural Center-Museum should be at the top of your list. The Latin American Cultural Center-Museum, a popular place for outings, is a cultural space created with the unique items collected by Ambassador Lee Bok-hyeong and his wife while living abroad during the 1990s. The museum, art gallery, religion exhibition hall, and sculpture gallery inside the premises make visitors feel as if they are in a foreign country. Therefore, this is an ideal venue for art and culture-related seminars and small gatherings. The center is being continuously developed as a site for culture and the arts as well as a site for local cultural themes. Events are usually hosted in the banquet hall in the basement floor, the lobby, or in the outdoor sculpture park with a full-course dinner, including paella. Decorated with various ornaments and elegant furniture brought over from the Latin America and an aged tile floor, the center provides a truly unique experience that visitors will not be able to find anywhere else.
Facilities
The major facilities of the Latin American Cultural Center-Museum include a museum, art gallery, religion exhibition room, and sculpture park. Events can be held in the Center’s central lobby, seminar room, and sculpture gallery
Seminar room Located on the first basement level, the seminar room spans an area of approximately 99㎡ (30 pyeong) and can accommodate up to 80 people at once. A reservation for a full-course meal can be made together with the room reservation. The first thing that will catches your eyes in the central hall is the fountain, which is made out of Spanish-style stone. The 120-year-old Steinway & Sons grand piano, used for the special music festival hosted regularly by the Center, is a particularly striking element that adds grace to any event with the beautiful sound that it is still able to create.
Another attraction of the center is taking a walk through the culture center after the event is over. Various local artifacts and artworks can be found in the museum, art gallery, and religion exhibition room, and a walk through the sculpture park while admiring the wall paintings or enjoying the scenery from the terrace is a perfect way to end a day. It is a special experience for both domestic and foreign guests.
