Recently, due to the expansion of digital technology, the industry is rapidly changing into a convergence era. The MICE industry is not an exception to this. In particular, as the importance of the marketing field grows day by day, existing MICE companies are preparing for this change.
This trend is also seen in the new members of the Goyang MICE Alliance. "Design Chuu (CEO Eun Jung Kim) " who has been running a business that is optimized on brand marketing is expanding its marketing scope to the homepage, SNS, and content marketing. " POD Communications Inc. (CEO Jung Woo Lee) " who has been providing traditional PCO service is expanding its stride into the tourist industry and sports marketing.
"Expanding to sports marketing from PCO... Will find a win-win plan with Goyang City"
Jung Woo Lee from POD Communications Inc. CEO

-What type of company is POD Communications Inc.?
"In the MICE industry, POD Communications Inc. in the MICE industry is thriving for international meetings and society, hosting corporate meetings and promoting tourism and regional economy through sustainable tourist industry through traditional PCO fields such as government institutes, association and society, industrial meetings, and corporation's BTL marketing fields as well. We are expanding our business and are distinguishing ourselves in sports MICE and sports marketing.

-What business are you focusing on this year?
"Our main business is to plan and host international conferences and company's sales promotion, event, and campaign and we are expanding our business on AMC role so we are continuing to market related association. This year, we plan to focus on sports marketing related to the ICU World Cup Cheerleading Seoul Competition (Jamsil Handball Stadium, scheduled to be held in October) hosted by the ICU World Federation, and focus more on sported related MICE field."
-How did you get to join Goyang MICE Alliance?
"We were already a member of Seoul MICE Alliance as well as Suwon MICE Alliance, but I thought that I would need to do a more active business in Goyang City. So, I contacted the Goyang Convention Visitors Bureau and joined the Alliance."
-As you joined the Alliance, you have also joined and moved into Goyang MICE Training Center, what are some pros and cons?
"I think that the biggest advantage is that you are able to network with members, and exchange and receive information through regular meetings that are hosted by the Goyang Convention Visitors Bureau. On top of that, we are currently getting a lot of help in our business through the regular training that reflects the demand from the alliance. One thing that I hope can be better is that only one worker is able to use the shared room. But due to the nature of the business, I hope that there are more independent rooms that 2 or more people can work in or have meetings in.
-What kind of activities will you do at Goyang MICE Alliance, and what do you expect from the other alliance companies and the bureau?
As we have done so far, we will continue to participate in regular meetings and educational programs to strengthen networking with other member companies. We will find and plan more tasks that are related to the public sector with Goyang City so that our company and Goyang City can grow together. We look forward to seeing other membership companies participate in the programs hosted by the bureau.
