[Goyang CVB 2025.08] Four Days Dedicated Solely to MICE: GDW2025

2 Sep 2025

August 20–23, Successfully Concluded with 860 Participants from 38 Countries

The Goyang Destination Week 2025 (GDW2025) came to a successful close on August 23. From August 20–23, the Sono Calm Goyang Hotel was buzzing with over 860 participants—including 165 international delegates—from 38 countries, ranging from MICE experts and industry professionals to students.

Starting with the Asia-Pacific Youth MICE Idea Contest ‘Asia Pacific Business Events Youth Challange’, the packed program continued with the โ–ณICCA EvolvDestination Forum Asia Pacific โ–ณInternational Destination Competitiveness Forum (IDCF) โ–ณand post-tours.

In line with its theme—Navigating the Growth of the MICE Industry: Technology, Personalization, Sustainability & ROI—GDW2025 focused entirely on the growth and development of the global MICE sector. Particularly, the hybrid live-streamed IDCF received enthusiastic responses by offering multi-dimensional insights into the industry’s future.

International speakers joined both onsite and online, sharing strategies for MICE growth. Keynote speaker David Blansfield, Executive VP of NorthStar Travel Group, stressed that “participant experience design is the key to MICE innovation”, adding that “human-centered experiences ultimately determine success or failure.”

Ryan George, CEO of Simpleview, a global marketing solutions provider for DMOs, emphasized the importance of holistic strategies: “In city marketing and the MICE industry, strategies must consider visitors, participants, and residents alike. Integrated brand strategies uniting economy, culture, and industry—while engaging entire communities—will emerge as core strategies.”

Keerat Singh, Head of Revenue Growth & Partnerships at Geveme, described real-time AI insights as the new “oil” for event experiences. She noted: “From real-time analytics and personalization to strategic insights, content reuse, and revenue models, AI expands event experiences on multiple levels. Both participants and organizers can experience immediate value and engagement, driving innovation across the industry.”
