A research report containing the 9-year journey of Goyang Convention Bureau is now available for anyone to download easily.
On April 23, Goyang Special City and Goyang Convention Bureau made public the “Goyang Convention Bureau Performance Evaluation Report” on their official website. Published in e-book format, this report is a type of record book that details the path taken by the Bureau over the past 9 years, from its founding to its achievements and performance between 2016 and 2024.
The “Goyang Convention Bureau Performance Evaluation Report”, spanning a massive 190 pages, comprehensively covers:
· Goyang City and the MICE industry
· Goyang Convention Bureau’s contribution to the local economy and society (2016–2024)
· Understanding of the Bureau’s performance and legacy
· Development strategies and suggestions for the future of the Bureau
In the appendix, you’ll even find the latest information on the status of domestic CVB organizations and related departments in the Korean MICE industry—so it's a must-read, right?
A brief look at some of the projects carried out by the Bureau over the past 9 years includes:
· In 2017, the first-ever “MICE Professional Training Program for Middle-aged Workforce” launched by a domestic CVB organization
· In 2018, selected as the first “International Conference Complex Zone” among basic local governments
· In 2021, introduced Korea’s first sustainable CVB operational model, “Goyang CVB 2.0” (transition to DMMO)
· In 2022–2023, selected as the “Top Sustainable MICE Destination in the Asia-Pacific Region” in the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDSI)
· Installation and operation of the Goyang MICE Promotion Center
There are so many accomplishments. Above all, it’s even more meaningful that these were “first” or “only” achievements among basic local governments in the MICE sector, made together with Goyang City.
Upon the publication of the research report, Secretary General Lee Sang-Yeol of Goyang Convention Bureau left this message:
“Please continue to watch Goyang Convention Bureau with interest, as we strive to promote Goyang City as an international MICE destination and take the lead in building the city’s MICE industry ecosystem.”
The “Goyang Convention Bureau Performance Evaluation Report” can be downloaded by anyone without signing up, from the ‘Archive → Resources’ section of the Goyang CVB website (goyangcvb.com).
