Keeping up with trends that change every day is easier said than done, especially when applying the know-how accumulated through years of industry experience to new trends. Ultimately, you have to look for clues in cooperating with other sectors. Many Goyang MICE Alliance members are trying to follow the new trends through such attempts and efforts.
DNIC (CEO Jisu Yoo), which has expanded from a staffing agency to an event operation agency, succeeded in developing its own recruitment solution dedicated to hiring MICE professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Geumgang Media Company (CEO Sangjun Kim), which has accumulated over 30 years of know-how in producing business cards, prints, and banners, joined the Goyang MICE Alliance to prepare for the changing demands and be fully prepared for a new beginning.
Armed with extensive experience and know-how in different fields, what direction are these two companies heading? Goyang Convention & Visitors Bureau interviewed them.
“Focusing on producing advertising materials such as prints and banners... Seeking changes according to the times”
Sangjun Kim, CEO of Geumgang Media Company
-What kind of company is Geumgang Media Company?
“I have been working in the printing industry for nearly 30 years, believing in ”doing the best even in small things.“ The times have changed, so we are now producing simple ad materials such as banners and fomex. We produce various items, such as business cards, prints, copies, binding, rubber stamps, banners, and plaques.”
-Which project are you focusing on this year?
“That question makes me look back and ask myself what my main business is. We’ve been doing everything the customers asked us, with business cards as our base and main focus. I think we need to make a change, and that’s why we’re asking the Goyang Convention & Visitors Bureau for help.”
-How did you join the Goyang MICE Alliance?
“Initially, an acquaintance introduced us to the Goyang Convention & Visitors Bureau as a printing company. We started with small assignments from the Bureau, and as we worked together, I learned about the Goyang MICE Alliance and joined it afterward.”
-What activities do you plan to carry in the Goyang MICE Alliance? Do you have any expectations for member companies and the Bureau?
“First, I plan to attend and actively participate in the meetings. I’m also interested in helping my neighbors through community service. I look forward to maintaining a good relationship with the Bureau as a partner.”
